This is actually the tale of four people in late-middle-age - Gary, Edwin, Letty and Marcia - whose main point-of contact is the fact that they experience the same issue and they function in the same workplace - isolation. Carefully, poignantly, with much comedy and satirically, Pym performs us through their little lives and the act they assemble to protect themselves from the external world. There's nonetheless an optimism in her figures, permitting them within their various ways to get to a type of wish.
