Imagine if John Henry had a boy?Twelve-year-old Ray is haunted by the memories of his dad, whom Ray swears might talk to animals. Today an orphan, Lewis leaps from the train going right on through the American South and drops in with a medicine show train and its firm of sideshow entertainers. The entertainers come out to be people, defenders of the wild, such as the child of John Henry. They're concealing the final of the mythological Swamp Sirens from an old evil referred to as the Gog.
