An attractive young lady named Marilyn accumulates a stranger in a bar and takes him home to her Manhattan residence. Marilyn 's body is discovered by her housekeeper the following day. Marilyn's life and death have far reaching consequences on others, even people she's never met: a charming former police commissioner on the brink of a breakdown; a struggling author; a folk craft seller plumbing the depths of her very own intense libido; an attorney who favors homicide tests since there's one experience less.
