12 years following the Outbreak almost ruined the planet, teen-agers are stored in Quarantines just in case they become the Monsters that contaminated half the planet using the zombie parasite.  Mike Handy is just a born rebel, wanting to enter Quarantine and break-away from his broken Outbreak-heir parents.  What he didn't count on was needing to encounter their own concern concerning the evil hiding within him, or even the impossible, that the Outbreak may possibly not be over.
