  No sooner had Bob Stewart set eyes on El Valero than he paid a check.  Today all he'd to complete was show Ana, his spouse that they certainly were the proud owners of a remote sheep farm in the Alpujarra Mountains in Southern Spain.  That was the simple part.Lush with olive, lemon, and almond groves, the farm lacks several essentials—running water, energy, an entry road.  And then there is the issue of rapacious Pedro Romero, the prior operator who will not leave.  A continuous optimist, whose ability as a sheepshearer has an excellent meal into his fresh Neighborhood, Stewart also possesses an unflappable nature that, we quickly discover, nothing may diminish.  Totally enchanted by the tough landscape of the hillside and the folks they meet across the way—among them producers, such as the ever-ingenious Domingo, other retirees and artists—Chris and Ana Stewart develop an enviable existence, filled with a young child and puppies, in a state not even close to home.
