Description

A long way away in the area of his birth, in a frontier-town on-the-edge of tribal wilderness, a health care provider attempts to solve the apparently unreconcilable needs of his private emotions and his public career. He thinks his exile her to be short-term, and he is tormented by youthful memories of the distant city by having an intolerable feeling of loss. However he's grown to enjoy a fellow exile, a lady of strong will and fierce independence, who goes naturally to the mayhem and heat of the frontier. But, throughout a summer of famine and disease, the leave erupts into savagery and he's finally faced by the option of time for the town or of staying with her.
