With all the genius of the detective, Peter Connolly has superbly rebuilt the life span of the Roman soldier--who lived significantly less than one hundred years following the death of Christ--using a huge variety of historical content, including tombstones and unique Roman files written on papyrus present in the sands of Egypt and Syria. The knight's name was Tiberius Claudius Maximus and he offered underneath the emperor Trajan, in his excellent conflicts in Central Europe and the Center East.
