When Sgt. John Mills and the remainder of the first Battalion, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment flew into Iraq in April, 2004, they certainly were said to be winning hearts and minds. They certainly were soon battling due to their lives.Within hours of the arrival in Iraq, a grenade bounced off among the battalion’s Land Rovers, folded underneath and detonated. The wait noted the start of a complete-range firefight where a man was killed by Mills with his assailant’s head that was removed by a round.
