The appearance of Michael Bowenis woman, committed sight-unseen by proxy, directs the rancher spinning. With her cowboy hat, pants and gun, she appears like women outlaw—not the lady he corresponded with for weeks. He's been hoodwinked into relationship with the incorrect lady!Selina Farleigh Bowen liked Michael's characters, even when she could not study them himself. A friend read them to her, and published her replies—but evidently that "friend" left points out, like Michael's imagine a spouse who had been nothing like her.
