Description

Created to tough fabric in working class London in 1748, Mary Saunders hungers for linen and lace. She is led by her lust for a shiny red ribbon into a life of prostitution at a young age, where she confronts a freedom unknown to virtuous young ladies. But a misstep sends her running to Monmouth and the sanctuary of the center-class home of Mrs. Jones, to get to be the seamstress her mom often envisioned her to be and to reside the ordinary life of an ordinary woman.
