Doreen Tovey enchants us again with tales of living with her husband Charles in a West Country town, where they're driven to distraction by Siamese cats, Annabel the donkey, nesting swallows, bucking horses, and the villagers who nevertheless respect them as inefficient townsfolk, despite 18 years.
