Once the unusual Durrell family can't withstand the moist, grey Language environment, they are doing what any smart family might do: promote their property and move to the warm Greek area of Corfu. My Loved Ones and Other Animals was meant to accept the natural heritage of the area but wound up like a pleasant account of Durrell’s family’s encounters, in the several unusual hangers on for the ceaseless procession of pups, toads, scorpions, geckoes, ladybugs, glowworms, octopuses, bats, and butterflies to their house.
