In the predawn hours of the dismal February morning in 1994, two thieves entered the National Gallery in Oslo and made off with among the world's most well-known paintings, Edvard Munch's Scream. It was a crime committed as the entire world was watching the opening ceremonies of the Wintertime Olympics in Lillehammer. Embarrassed and perplexed, the police considered the main one person they thought may help: a half English, half American undercover policeman called Charley Hill, the planet's best artwork investigator. The Recovery Artist is just a rollicking story that bears visitors deep within the artwork underworld -- and presents them to some big and vibrant cast of entitled aristocrats, smart detectives, and heavy-necked thugs.
