Flappers and Philosophers was initially published in 1920, on the heels of the youthful author’s smash-hit book This Side of Paradise. The series includes a number of his most well-known early tales, including “Bernice Bobs Her Hair,” “The Snow Structure,” “Head and Shoulders,” and “The Off-Shore Pirate.” In these pages we meet a lot of Fitzgerald’s brand personality varieties: the beautiful and headstrong young ladies and the dissolute young males of what came into existence termed the Lost Generation.
