Greater than a half century before the Canadian Wildlife Service designated the naturalist Farley Mowat to research why wolves were harming arctic caribou. Mowat's account of summer time he lived in the freezing tundra alone-learning the wolf population and creating a strong love for the wolves (who have been of no risk to caribou or guy) and for an amiable Inuit group referred to as the Ihalmiut ("Folks of the Deer")-is just a function that's become valued by generations of visitors, an indelible record of the myths and magic of wild wolves.
