Secret and science fiction author Fredric Brown (1906-1972) remains best known for his short fiction. His tale "Arena" (in this volume) became the foundation for a "Star Trek" bout of exactly the same name. "Arena" was also chosen from the membership of the Science-Fiction Writers of America as you of the twenty best SF tales ever.
