In 2083, espresso and  chocolate are unlawful, document is difficult to find, water is carefully rationed, and Nyc is rife with poverty and crime. And however, for Anya Balanchine, the sixteen-year-old daughter of the town's most infamous (and useless) crime employer, life is rather program. It includes likely to college, looking after her siblings and her desperate grandma, trying to prevent falling in deep love with the brand new helper D.A.'s boy, and preventing her loser ex-boyfriend. That is until her ex is accidently poisoned from the chocolate her household makes and law enforcement believe she's at fault. Abruptly, Anya sees himself forced unwillingly in to the limelight--at school, in the news headlines, and most of all, within her mafia family.
