Description

For a 16-yr-old child out on the planet alone for the very first time, every dayis an education in the effort and indifference of migrant labour; every day shows him anything more about companionship, or starvation, or profanity, or lust--usually lust. He discovers what sort of poker game, or hitching a ride, may turn life-threatening. He finds the kindness and unhappiness found on the lonely village in the centre of nowhere. He then becomes a grunt and ties up with a circus, shilling for the nerd display and managing a trip.
