Description

Nory Ryan's family has lived on Maidin Bay on the west-coast of Ireland for decades, raising several chickens and a pig, growing carrots, getting by. Each year Nory's father disappears on a fishing-boat and results with all the lease income for the English lord who possesses their pad and fields, the English lord bent upon making the Irish from their property so he is able to drop the cottages and clear the fields for grazing. Occasions should never be simple on Maidin Bay, but a dreadful blight attacks the carrots, this season. Starvation is meant by no crop.
