One day when Rupert Sethleigh's body is located, minus its mind, organized within the town grocer store, the occupants of Wandles Parva are not especially annoyed. Sethleigh was a blackmailing money-lender and the unusual investigator Mrs Bradley starts her analysis once she discovers no lack of suspects. It quickly transpires that many of the town appear to have now been roaming about Way Woods, home of the mystical druidic rock on which Sethleighis bloodstream is located decorated, on the night time he was killed but may she get rid of the red herrings and capture the actual killer?
