Because they faced each other in a duel of success, the Roman tribune Marcus Scaurus held the cause-scribed sword of the Druid priest, and the Celtic chieftain Viridovix held an identical sword, bespelled with a competing Druid wizard. Right now they moved, both found themselves under an odd night-sky where no superstars were accustomed and where Gaul and Rome were unfamiliar. They certainly were within an outpost of the Empire of Videssos--in a global where secret and black sorcery might check their bravery and ability as no Roman legion had actually been examined before.
