Description

A millennium in to the future, two advancements have altered the span of human history:  the colonization of the Universe and the creation of the positronic brain.  On the beautiful Outer World planet of Solaria, a number of human colonists lead a hermit-like existence, their every need taken care of by their faithful robot servants.  To this strange and provocative planet comes Detective Elijah Baley, sent from the streets of Ny together with his positronic partner, the robot R. Daneel Olivaw, to resolve an amazing murder that's rocked Solaria to its foundations.  The victim had been so reclusive that he seemed to his associates only through holographic projection.  Yet somebody had gotten close enough to bludgeon him to death while robots seemed on.  Now Baley and Olivaw are confronted with two obvious impossibilities:  Either the Solarian was killed by one of is own robots--impossible underneath the regulations of Robotics--or he was killed by the girl who loved him so much that she never arrived to his presence!
