In 1955, Jenny Van Horne was a 21-year-old, trusting Bennington School scholar on her behalf own for the very first time in Nyc. She fulfills 46-yr-old Clement Greenberg who, she's told, is “the most well-known, the most essential, art critic in the world!” Understanding nothing about art, she quickly finds himself taken into Clem’s world and the heady business of Hans Hofmann, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, David Jones, Helen Frankenthaler, amongst others. Eight weeks later, as a brand new bride, Jenny and Clem spend summer time in East Hampton near Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, and she seems much more acutely as an interloper in the inner-circle of the-art picture. A lady disowned by her anti semitic family for marrying a Jew, she'd create a serious, caring relationship with Clem that would stay robust through decades of an open relationship and individual residences.Jenny symbolizes the critical modifications of every passing decade as she searches for sides of her own.
