In 2005–06, Jules Angus, together with her fiancé Colin, rowed 10,000 kilometers over the Atlantic Ocean, becoming the very first female on the planet to visit from mainland to mainland in a rowboat. The 145-morning trip offered Angus, an experienced researcher, a distinctive viewpoint about the sea. The slow moving vessel turned an environment unto itself, getting barnacles, dorado fish, trigger fish, turtles, sharks, whales, birds, and more, which she could see and record.
