Three and a half years back previous Grant County medical examiner Sara Linton transferred to Atlanta wishing to abandon her tragic past behind her. Currently operating as a health care provider in Atlanta’s Grady Clinic she's just starting to piece her life together. Nevertheless when a seriously injured young girl is introduced to the er, she finds herself pulled back to an environment of horror and hatred. The girl has been struck with a vehicle but, brutalised and bare, it’s obvious that she's been the victim of the complicated mind.
