Description

Matthew Molloy, informed and vibrant, wishes to leave-behind his miserable living on a little village in Ireland. He brings to stress and sets aside his desire until oneday, he walks away, leaving his wife and little child to fight for themselves. In summer time of 1971, his daughter Nora sees himself in Shoal Cove, Newfoundland, where Peg Craig shows the strategies of Matthewis reclusive existence. The tale slides back and forth between Ireland in the first 1900s, a country struggling to find its identity and recover its nationhood, and Newfoundland in the 1940s, a country going to surrender its nationhood and join Canada.
