Steve Motram, a cell biologist at Newcastle University, strongly believes that Black Death wasn't caused by bubonic plague but by an unidentified disease. He's thrilled when Oxford College shows him that there can be maintained systems of Dark Death sufferers concealed under Dryburgh Abbey. An excavation is launched by Motram after entering the key grave when he evidently loses his head however it involves a devastating finish. Doctor Steven Dunbar is delivered to examine - worrying that the new monster disease hasbeen let free.
