In the slums of Accra, Ghana’s quickly-shifting, multicultural capital, teens are arriving dead. Inspector Darko Dawson has observed several offenses, but this latest chain of murders—in which all of the small patients keep a relaxing signature—is the absolute most unsettling of his profession. Are these heinous acts a kind of routine killing or even the work of a single, cold blooded beast? As time passes running out, Dawson affects the world of the urban poor and embarks on a harrowing trip through the city’s underbelly, where neighborhood kids are compelled to struggle due to their very survival—and a crafty monster appears just out of reach.
