It's wintertime, 1950 in a dull section of London. Steve Davies confesses to strangling his girlfriend and infant girl, and for DI Ted Stratton of West-End Main, it claims to be always a simple situation. When Davies recants, accusing reputable neighbor Gary Backhouse for your offenses, nobody, including Stratton, views any reason to think him. Davies is hanged and convicted, but later, following a number of grisly findings, Stratton starts to believe that there's been a dreadful miscarriage of justice.
