Victoria “Smokey” Simmons stands quietly on-deck as her father’s body is lowered in to the Atlantic, asking God for the strength she'll need certainly to order the Aramis alone. Not attempting to stay at sea permanently, Smokey desires when she may deal her living aboard ship for a family and house of times.   Smokey thinks her dream will finally become a reality, when she meets another chief, Texas Knight. But conditions beyond their control and the strategies of the pirate threaten to ruin this youthful couple’s expect the near future.
