Description

Drawn in by her grandparents to help ease the stress on her poverty stricken family, Katie Benfield understands she is among the fortunate people. Nevertheless, she dreams of a much better life and of using a medical career. Despite many challenges, her goal is achieved by Katie but misfortune hits both her grandpa and Winton Colliery and Katieis childhood partner Billy are killed in a mining accident.
