Description

Leonard Marnham is given to a British-American surveillance team in Cold-War Berlin. His intellect work—tunneling under an Euro communications centre to touch the telephone lines to Moscow—offers him a pleasant chance to start losing their own undesirable purity, even when he's merely a bit player in a harsh worldwide comedy of mistakes. Leonard's connection with Karen Eckdorf, an enigmatic and wonderful West Berliner, similarly guarantees to release the ties of his regular existence. However the guarantee turns to terror in the span of one horrible evening—an evening when Leonard Marnham discovers simply how much of his innocence he is prepared to drop.
