In fragile, delicately noticed close-up, we see the expectations, worries, and silent despairs of the varied neighborhood: the man with painfully damaged fingers who attempted in vain to truly save his partner from a burning house and who must now take care of his young child alone; several young clubgoers only home from an all night talk, sweetly large and mulling over obscure desires; the anxious young man at number 18 who gathers strange metropolitan rubbish and is haunted by the specter of unrequited love. Whenever a horrible incident happens the comfort of the road is broken at evening's end.
