Description

Influenced by an occurrence in Henry James's life-the tale of a completely independent young lady's trip from conference. Following the start of Civil War, Emily Hudson-an orphan who lost her family to temperature and usage -discovers himself the guest in the house of her relatives in Newport. Emilyis yearning to become an artisan is ignored by her puritanical dad, who would like only to rid herself of her through relationship. Her only friend is her aesthete relative, Bill, a troubled young author.
