Ada and Harriet do not understand what to anticipate once they fulfill their new parent, Mr. Wolfson. This is a surprisingly magnetic, darkly humorous person confined to a wheelchair and flanked with a set of intense, harmful dogs—an enigmatic benefactor, at the same time inviting and daunting.
