Description

In 1572, Montaigne retired to his estates to be able to commit herself to reading, discretion and representation. There he published his continuously growing 'essays', inspired by the ideas he found in books from his own experience and library. He covers topics as varied as war horses and cannibals, poetry and politics, gender and religion, love and companionship, euphoria and encounter. Most importantly, Montaigne analyzed herself to locate their own internal character and that of mankind.
