Who'd have thought the Journey of  Huckleberry Finn might lead to the worst disaster in the  history of George Mason Senior School? Undoubtedly not  Barney Roth, editor of the college paper. But when  a tiny but noisy number of pupils and parents  decide that the book is racist, sexist, and  immoral--and must certanly be taken off reading lists and the  school collection--Barney takes things into his own  hands.When the Huck Finn issue  comes up for a hearing, Barney chooses to produce his  story about prior censorship initiatives at school.  Heis sure that undercover reporting and  publicity might help the cause. But is he too late to turn  the wave of censorship?
