Depleted and frustrated with the planet of theatre in-may 1935, Josephine Tey has visited to Cornwall to invest summer time with her pals the Motleys at their run down but lovely country property. Prepared to start focus on her next mystery book, Tey discovers much to encourage her in the scenery and its stories. Meanwhile, the Motleys have grown to be in an amateur production in the regional Minack Theatre. Detective Inspector Archie Penrose has returned to his roots in Cornwall to go to the funeral of a household friend, a property employee who died in a tragic riding accident.
