Description

The systems are found on New Year's Evening, sixteen lifeless in the newly fallen snow. The grownups lay rigid in a semicircle; the kids, in coats and pajamas, are curled at their feet. Commissaire André Schweigen knows who to contact: Dominique Carpentier, the Judge, also called the "sect seeker, when he learns the news headlines." Carpentier sweeps in to the analysis in red gloves and heavy glasses, and collectively the Judge and Commissaire start trying to find clues in a regional chalet. One of the arrangements and unwrapped gifts of the relatively regular vacation, they look for a leather-bound book, full of mystical signal, containing maps of the celebrities.
