Holding technology which allows him to visit across alternative sides, John Rayburn starts creating a transdimensional industrial kingdom, brought by his nearest buddies, him, and their doppelgängers from a number of different parallel universes. But not every edition of every individual may be the same, and their times don't usually correspond.  Despite their harmless motives, the activities attract unwelcome attention from other dimensional vacationers who desire their engineering and can destroy one to manage it, a risk that culminates in a nuclear standoff for prominence through the multiverse.
