Twelve years back, a young girl disappeared.  Now a filmmaker has created a film about it.  The girl's parents call it invasion of privacy.  A woman lawyer calls it murder.The bloodstains on the courtroom floor fit in with attorney Nina Reilly.  Months previously she'd been shot throughout a hot homicide trial.  She must have died that day.  Instead, Nina has returned to exactly the same River Tahoe court.  Her only concession to her residual concern would be to quit legal law.  She figures an invasion of privacy suit is just a good, secure municipal activity that can help her support her young boy and pay the expenses for her one-woman legislation office.  She numbers wrong.Nina's customer is Terry Birmingham, a filmmaker whose documentary in regards to a lost girl is elevating troubling questions.  The girl's troubled parents think the movie invades their privacy.  But Terry's brutal homicide changes anything. Busting her promise to himself, Nina decides to protect Terry's accused assassin, a man she'd known years before and wished not to see again. Abruptly the strategies of Nina's past are just starting to surface in a homicide case that gets more threatening every day.  The proof against her client is surprising and ironclad--a movie of Terry's desperate words.  The only opportunity Nina needs to preserve the man may be illegal.  And if it fails, Nina may drop the case, her exercise,and also her existence.
