Description

Alfredo, a choir boy in 18th century Italy, loses his family in a fire, and his strange Uncle Giorgio spirits him away for their ancestral house below a volcano. There he discovers that Uncle Giorgio may be the Grasp of the Hill; he may manage the volcano. He's also an alchemist, in a position to create gold from the holes of the hot salamander he grabbed from one's heart of the mountain. Alfredo is his heir, the following Grasp; and as Alfredo discovers the real history of his family and its energy, he starts to believe that his dad is really a fearsome wizard.
