Description

It's Holiday, A.D. 1141, Abbot Radulfus returns from London, taking with him a priest for the living of Holy Cross, also called the Foregate. The brand new priest is just a man of understanding, existence, and self-control, but he lacks the most popular contact and humility. When he's discovered drowned in the millpond, suspicion is cast upon a man who came together with the priest's practice and was delivered to operate in Brother Cadfael's backyard.
