The very first volume in The Oz Stories evokes equally Stephen King’s The M and Stay. Joe Baum’s The Wizard of Oz. When 13-year-old Osmond “Oz” Griffith gets from a disease on the ground of his cabinet, he finds the planet inundated by the Takers -eating creatures, man, and it’s mostly his problem. Within an attempt to create things right, he collects a group of children (an infant, an outdated technician and a speaking gorilla, amongst others), and sparks down his edition of the yellow-brick path, resulting in the Atlanta Zoo.
