Description

An initial novel occur mid-19th-century colonial Calcutta, by an author who had been born and lives in India. It tells of the tormented love between a lively young Englishwoman and a strange, questionable half caste, the bastard child of an unknown Englishman and an Indian woman in the hillsides.
