Jane Connon was a little-town femme fatale, wanting to check her appeal on any guy between 60 and 6. Her spouse -- the main one bloke to whom she never blew a kiss -- comes immediately under suspicion, when sheis found dead in her own family room. But Andy Dalziel, the gloriously vulgar savant of the Middle-Yorkshire police, has various other suggestions, and them all center around the local rugby team -- Jane Connon's favored hunting-ground, and the city's cultural center.
