Hominids investigates two unique species of individuals. We're some of those species; another may be the Neanderthals of a parallel world where they truly became the dominant intelligence. The civilization has already reached heights of culture and science similar to our very own, but with significantly different society, background and philosophy. Ponter Boddit, a Neanderthal physicist, accidentally pierces the barrier between worlds and is used in our world.
