Description

Winter isn't a great time for jobbing artists in early 18th-century Newcastle. The city has emptied for that period, and Charles Patterson, harpsichordist, arranger show and teacher to the gentry, is down seriously to his last few shillings. But Patterson has another skill: solving secrets. When an unpopular wood contractor believes his life is at risk and a store-son dies in questionable situations, the present of a considerable charge persuades him to find solutions with a hard issues.
