Description

On the Blue Ridge Mountain maximum, three kids hear the rattling of the snare drum deeply in the cave referred to as "The Jangling Pit," and a whispered name is carried by the wind. A classic guy at the base of the hill thinks anything within the Pit hasbeen disrupted with a designer's bulldozers. An area writer is decided to resolve the mysteries which have been discussed for decades. Sheriff Frank Littlefield, haunted by past failures, should remain against a public opponent that's no anxiety about bullets, bars, or justice.
