Bill Mears has returned to Jerusalem's Lot in the expectations that residing in an old estate, long the topic of city lore, offer motivation for his new book and will help him throw out their own demons. Nevertheless when two small kids only one comes out living and venture in to the woods, Mears starts to understand that there might be something sinister at the office and that his neighborhood is under siege by forces of darkness much beyond his control.
